Prasar Bharati Invited applications for on-boarding satellite TV channels on PB OTT Platform

Notification: To add Private TV channels on PB OTT

Last Date for Application: 12th August (Monday), 2024 by 5:00 PM

This is the first time that Prasar Bharati invited applications from private broadcasters or TV channels to add their satellite TV channel to the Prasar Bharati OTT platform. According to the official notification of Prasar Bharati, the TV channels will be categorized into 4 categories.

1. News & Current Affairs National Channels (Hindi Languages)

2. News & Current Affairs National Channels (English Language)

3. Non-News & Current Affairs National Channels (All Languages)

4. Non-News & Current Affairs Regional TV Channels

On-boarding OTT Fees:

The clean feed of successful TV channels will be carried on the OTT platform on a revenue-sharing basis which will be in the ratio of 65:35 of the net revenue generated from the channel by inserting advertisements (65% to channel & 35 % to Prasar Bharati).

Broadcasters desirous to place channels on the OTT platform will be required to provide SCTE-35/ad marker-enabled feed of the channel, which can signal the start and end times of advertisement breaks, of the channel.

Who can participate? -

Companies or Satellite TV channels can apply to become part of Prasar Bharati OTT, they should be permitted/licensed by the Ministry of I&B for downlinking and distribution of any satellite TV channel in India.
