23rd February 2024 -Pear TV is a Tamil Entertainment TV channel that was launched recently. It is a completely free-to-air TV channel.The arrival of a Tamil channel on DD Freedish reminds me of the times when TV channels like Megha TV, Amrita TV, etc. were also available. So this is good news for South India viewers that now Tamil language channel will also be available on DD Free Dish, a few years ago lots of South India TV channels were available on DD Free Dish including Kairali TV, Makkal TV, Amrita TV, Jay Hind TV, Kalaignar TV, and Mega TV. But later all the South Indian language (Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Odia, etc) channels left the platform. But now Pear TV Tamil will try to fill this space for Tamil language viewers.
Recently Aastha Tamil channel was added to DD Free Dish's MPEG-4 slot, but that has changed to the Aastha Gujarati channel.
