How to get HD channels?
If you have DD Freedish set-top box and dish antenna installed but even after this you are not receiving HD channels, then either your set-top box does not support HD channels i.e. it is an SD set-top box, or the frequency of HD channels. However, the dish antenna is not able to receive the signal.
For this, go to Menu >> Installation >> Satellite Settings >> TP List or Transponder List from your remote and add this frequency 11630/V/30000 through Add New Transponder and check the signal. If the signal is coming then manually scan to get the channel and if the signal is not coming then try to get the signal by turning the dish antenna slightly left and right.
Received HD channels but the picture quality is not good.
If you are receiving HD channels on your TV but the picture quality does not appear to be HD channels, then there could be some of the following reasons.
Problem - Connection of set-top box and AV cable
Solution – Connect your set-top box to the TV with an HD cable.
Problem – TV does not support HD channels.
Solution - Nowadays, some shopkeepers in the market offer cheap TV benches in the name of HD TV, so keep in mind that not every thin-looking TV is HD. Make sure to check its highest supported resolution and also see the HDMI port in it. It should be at least 720p i.e. HD Ready. There is false information written on the boxes of TV and set-top boxes in the market, hence definitely ask for the invoice.
Problem – Audio and video freezing only of HD channels?
Solution - If the audio and video of HD channels are breaking or freezing intermittently, then the signal on 11630/V/30000 is decreasing or increasing. For this, you should check or replace the dish antenna.
Are there any special accessories to receive HD channels?
If you are buying a new HD set-top box or you want to upgrade the new box by removing the old box, then the dish antenna, LNB, cable, everything will remain the same or all are the same. Only when you are buying the box, make sure that the box is HD and also supports the new technology HEVC.
How to add new HD channels or new TV channels on DD Freedish?
