New MPEG-4 frequencies added, increased to 14 TP

There is great news for Doordarshan Freedish, Prasar Bharati has added new MPEG-4 frequencies to its free DTH service and expanded the MPEG-4 slots on DD Freedish. 

This expansion is so huge that since the inception of DD Freedish, no such expansion has happened till now. First 33 channels started, then 33 to 55, then 55 to 80, and 80 to 96 channels have expanded.

This time not only the slots have expanded on DD Freedish DTH, but new technology has also been included. Earlier, 8-9 satellite transponders of GSAT-15 were used for DD Freedish, but now the number has gone up to 13. In the future, this number may increase even more and maybe DD Freedish may convert its TV channels to HEVC or H.265. This can increase the number of TV channels from 340 to close to 600, which means an open platform for all free-to-air TV channels.

Due to an increase in space or more slots on DD Freedish, Reserve Price can be reduced, so that TV channels of other languages that have low income can also join Freedish and spread their content or reach of their channel across India.

Currently, The students of the country will get the biggest benefit from the new frequency of MPEG-4 on DD Freedish, because now all the states may get TV channels of PM e-Vidya. More than 60 TV channels will be launched by Digishala for education.
