The channel is owned by Zee Network. It again won the MPEG-2 slot in DD Freedish's 75th e-Auction 2024. It has wide coverage in Urban and rural Bharat, using DD Free Dish.

Zee Network's new Marathi movie channel introduced the first only on DD Free dish from 1st April 2021. Zee Chitramandir is a brand new movie channel and is now available on Doordarshan Free dish.
