Know how to resolve the No Signal problem in DD Free Dish DTH system?

If you are getting No Signal message on the TV screen, then don't worry. Today we will troubleshoot to get DD Free dish signals in normal condition.

There can be various reasons for not receiving signals on your DD Free dish Set-Top Box. So we will troubleshoot DD Free dish system step by steps -

Signal Status :

First of all, check the signal status in your set-top box. Just press the Info button from your DD Free dish remote. Now you will see signal info window. The different-2 brand set-top box may have a different-2 window but don't worry, just press the info button and check Signal Intensity and Signal Quality that how much the percentage you are getting in both.

How fix DD Free Dish no signal?

Before setting the dish antenna you should know what is Signal Intensity and Signal Quality in DD Free dish set-top box. 

Difference between signal strength and signal quality-

Signal Intensity (Signal Level or Signal Strength) -

It indicates that your set-top box is connected to the dish antenna properly. The percentage is showing how much power is reaching to the LNB.

If you are not getting signal intensity, it means you can connectivity is not good. So check your connectivity by given below method.

Signal Quality -

It indicates how much gain your box is receiving from the satellite.

So if you are looking that signal intensity bar is okay but the signal quality bar is not showing. It means your set-top box not getting a signal from the satellite. Now you need to re-align your dish antenna. We will let you know below.

So let's troubleshoot the first problem

How can I increase my set-top box signal strength?

A) If you are not getting signal intensity in our dd free dish box.

Check the Connectivity :

DD Free dish antenna cable may not be correctly connected to the Set-Top Box. Check the RG6 connector which is connected to your set-top box. Just unplug the connector and connect again and see the signal level in your STB signal info window. if no changes then follow the next step.

The same check the cable connector plugged-in your DD Freedish antenna LNB, just unplug and connect again. make sure the coaxial cable connection is secure and don't use any splitter between connections.

Still not getting signal intensity? :

Then there may be issues with your hardware like -

Wire Problem -

Check all the wires for a cut or any damage between the DTH antenna to the set-top box. If you think that your wire has been damaged or it is too old then you can replace it.

LNB problem -

If LNB is dead, then you can replace the new LNB. You can buy online from marginprice, CATVIndia, or Amazon.

Set-Top Box Problem -

You can plug-in the same set-top box to another home or dish antenna. If not working then your free dish STB is not giving output power to a dish antenna. You need to repair your box.

B) Signal Intensity is coming but not getting Signal Quality in dd free dish STB.

If you are not getting signal quality then the free dish antenna may need to be adjusted to improve the signal quality. Know how to set DD Free dish antenna below step by steps -

i) Call the Installation person from any DTH dealer shop. If you don't have tools and time.

How do I set my satellite dish signal?

ii) If you have tools then just lose some DD Free dish antenna screws and rotate slowly-slowly to left and right sides within 2 degree.

It means rotate your Free dish antenna slowly-2 first two degrees left-side position, if the signal is still not coming, then come back to the previous position and rotate again two degrees in the right side position. If still not getting signals.

Then come back to the first position and follow the same process for up and down direction.

iii) If still not getting signals, then it is enough of home troubleshooting. You should call the DTH installation person. 

Warning -

Be safety-conscious while you're aligning your DD Free dish antenna. If possible, rig a safety line to protect yourself from falling. Make sure to avoid power lines you're aligning your antenna. So don't take too much stress, just call the DTH technicians.
